LEARN THROUGH FILMMAKING
We believe filmmaking is more than entertainment. It is a powerful way to teach, communicate, create, and connect and learn.
Our educational programs use the art of filmmaking as a hands-on tool for educational, professional and personal growth and development. Through workshops, lectures, immersive experiences, and opportunities to work directly with award-winning filmmakers, participants develop practical training and critical, transferable, business-related skills, including problem solving, time management, cross-functional collaboration, public speaking, project management, active listening and interpersonal skills, consensus building, conflict resolution, and adaptability, all while exploring and learning about literature, history, art, culture, and creating.
Our goal is to make engaging, high-quality education accessible, while helping bridge gaps in literacy, creative and professional skills development, as well as business, social and social-emotional knowledge. By learning to tell stories, work together, our students become not only better filmmakers, but also more confident, creative and proficient.

Learn the Art of Filmmaking
From Script to Screen
Great films are built long before the cameras roll—and continue to take shape long after production wraps.
Our programs introduce participants to the complete filmmaking process, giving them an understanding of how a film moves from an initial idea to a finished work.
Pre-Production
Learn how filmmakers conceptualize and develop an idea and prepare it for the screen, including research, story development, screenwriting, planning, casting, budgeting, scheduling, locations, production design, and more.
Production
Discover what really happens on set, and how the many departments of a film work together. Participants learn about directing, cinematography, lighting, sound, acting, production, and the collaborative process behind bringing a story to life.
Post-Production
Explore how all the pieces come together in the edit. Learn about editing, sound design, music, visual effects, color, titles, and the final steps that transform footage into a completed film.
Hone Your Craft
Filmmaking is made up of many different crafts, each requiring its own skills, knowledge, and creative perspective.
Our educational opportunities allow participants to explore individual areas of filmmaking and develop the skills that interest them most.
Depending on the program, students may have opportunities to explore:

Directing

Cinematography

Learning How to Work on a Set
Setiquette & Professionalism
A successful film set depends on more than technical knowledge. It depends on communication, preparation, respect, responsibility, and teamwork.
Through our programs, participants learn the fundamentals of settiquette, the professional practices and collaborative habits required on a professional set, that enable a production run safely, efficiently, and respectfully.
These are skills that extend far beyond a film set: communication, problem-solving, collaboration, accountability, and respect are valuable in every classroom, workplace, and community.
Students learn how departments interact, to correctly communicate on set, to understand the various roles and responsibilities of behind-the-scenes crew, to respect and advance the creative process for the good of thr project, and what it means to be a dependable member of a filmmaking team.
History, Art & Culture Through Story
The Past Comes to Life
Some of the greatest opportunities for learning begin with a story.
Through our period-pieces and films inspired by classic works of literature, we use filmmaking as a gateway into history, art, culture, mythology, the classics, and classic literature.
Participants don't simply read about another time or place, they have the opportunity to visit and explore it through research, storytelling, design, performance, and production.
A period film might lead students to investigate the clothing, architecture, language, customs, politics, beliefs, art, music, and literature of a particular era. A story drawn from mythology can open conversations about archetypes, human nature, morality, identity, and the ways cultures have used stories to understand the world.
By connecting these subjects to the process of making a film, we make learning active, creative, and memorable.

Learn From Those Who Make It
Industry Lectures, Guest Speakers & Events
Learning doesn't stop in the classroom.
We create opportunities for participants to learn directly from active, award-winning professionals in the film and entertainment industry through lectures, guest speakers, workshops, conversations, on-set opportunities, and special events.
These experiences offer an inside look at the realities of filmmaking and allow students to hear firsthand about the creative process, professional experiences, challenges, opportunities, and lessons learned from people working in the field.
Our goal is to connect aspiring filmmakers and lifelong learners with people whose experience can inform, inspire, and broaden their understanding of what is possible.
Immersive Learning Experiences
Experience the Art of Film
We believe some things are understood best by experiencing them.
Our immersive educational events invite participants to step beyond traditional learning and engage directly with the ideas behind filmmaking and media.
Through these experiences, we explore:
The Art of Filmmaking
How images, performances, sound, design, editing, and storytelling work together to create meaning and emotion.
The Power of Media
How film and media shape the way we understand ourselves, one another, history, and the world around us.
The Arts & Humanities
How filmmaking can serve as a bridge to literature, history, visual art, mythology, culture, and the classics.
The Power of Story
How stories can develop empathy, encourage critical thinking, preserve cultural memory, and help us understand experiences different from our own.

MORE THAN FILM
Our programs are designed to teach more than how to operate a camera or make a movie.
Through filmmaking, participants practice:
Creativity — developing ideas and expressing them with confidence.
Communication — learning to articulate ideas and listen to others.
Collaboration — working toward a shared creative goal.
Critical Thinking — analyzing stories, media, history, and the world around us.
Literacy — strengthening reading, writing, storytelling, and visual communication skills.
Empathy — exploring lives, cultures, and perspectives beyond our own.
Professional Skills — developing preparation, responsibility, problem-solving, and teamwork.
Cultural Understanding — engaging with history, art, literature, mythology, and the traditions that shape our world.
